Happy Birthday Baby!!!
What a month it's been! You are growing and learning and just the happiest baby in town!
You love to smile and "talk"; and have now taken on laughing. It comes out as single "he"s at a time and squeals like I've never heard them before. We have been so busy with you and life that I had barely time to write you.
Let's see; what happened this month..... It was your first Easter. We were invited to a fabulous dinner party over at Daisy and Dylan's house. We brought your little Winnie Pooh travel bed since the party got started right around your bed time. We love holding you in our arms but we also love eating food and visiting with friends;-) So we decided to try and have bedtime on the go. When the time came we set you up in the guest room with all your cozy blankies that Nona sewed and off you went to dream land without a peep! You slept all the way until 11.30pm when we got you up, strapped you in the car seat and drove home. You slept through everything like the little angle you are. At home you got a midnight snack and went right back to sleep. What a dream it was!
Feeding you has become somewhat of a challenge as you are way more interested in the world around you than ever before and every noise or moving thing catches your attention so that you turn your head in amazement and make a big milk mess! They say that will pass too;-)
April 6th, two days after our Easter gatherings, Mommy had to go back to work. Possibly the worst day ever!!! God I missed you! The only thing that made it bearable was that fact that I knew you would be home sound and safe with Daddy who takes such good care of you. The two of you know just what to do and you enjoy each other tremendously! I got all my gadgets ready so I could pump milk at work (they were kind enough to provide me with a tiny storage room to use for that) and Daddy is on bottle duty. Luckily I only work 3min. from home so I get to spend as much time with you as possible. The first couple of weeks I even got to come home for lunch to scarf down some food and smile at you or just stare at you sleeping if it happened to be your nap time. It was the best! My company was very nice in letting me start to ease back into work by letting me work "only" 8hr days to start off with. Since Mommy is a supervisor at work, I'm supposed to do 12hr shifts but we wanted to get the hang of things first. I had never been away from you for more than an hour or so; so 8 seemed terrible enough. But before we knew it we were in a real good rhythm and May 1st I started back with my 12hr shifts; which means I will have more days off to spend them with you; so it's all good.
Just one day after your four month birthday we had our check up with Dr. Shah and our second round of shots. You grew to 25 1/2 inches (! those legs!) and weighed 14lb 5oz. He asked about your sleeping schedule and we told him that you were pretty good about things. You like to wake up 2-3 times during the night and drink milk but you go right back to sleep. But we had noticed that you had started going 5-6 hour stretches between feedings and as soon as I went back to work and needed more sleep than ever, you decided to wake up every 3 hours again! We were going backwards. The Dr. smiled and said that you were a bit spoiled and that at your age and weight you don't always need to eat in the night and that we should try and just let you fuss for a bit instead of jumping up at every noise you make. We also discussed what and how to start you on some real food; but that still sounds a bit too grown up. I like you as my little baby; soon that time will be history.
You got your drops and your shot; and yes you cried but it wasn't nearly as horrible as the first time around. You went from screaming to smiling at us within about 2 min.
We're just so happy with our super cute family! Uki accepted you as his new pack leader from day one and you seem to slowly take an interest in him as well.

Was fuer en Monet das gsi isch! Du wachsisch und lernsch und bisch ueberhaupt s gluecklichste Baby im Quartier!
Du liebsch laechle und "rede" und bisch uf em beste Weg zum lache. Es chunt fuere als verzeinzelti "He"s hie und da und du quietschisch wie wahnsinnig. Mir hend so viel um d Ohre gha mit dir und allem andere, dass ich chum ziit gfunde han zum das schriebe.
Mal luege; was isch de Monet alles passiert.......du hesch dini erste Ostere gfiired. Mir sind iglade gsi zum e wunderbare Nachtesse bi de Daisy und bim Dylan. Will d Party genau agfange het zu dinere Bettziit, hemmer dis Winnie Pooh Reisebettli bitgnoh. Mir liebeds dich i eusne Arme zha, aber mir tuend au gern in Rueh esse und chli mit Kollege zaemesitze;-) Drum hemmer eus den entschiede s Bettprogramm unterwegs dure z fuehre. Wo's den Ziit gsi isch hemmer alles ufgstellt im Gaestezimmer mit all dinie flauschige Deckeli wo d Nona gnaehet het, und Schwups bisch im Land der Traeume gsi ohni en Piep! hesch bis am 23.30Uhr duregschlafe wo mir dich den hend muese ufneh, in Autositz schnalle und hei fahre. Du hesch wie es Engeli voll durepfused. Di Hei hesch en Mitternachtsimbiss gnoh und bisch grad sofort wieder igschlafe. Was fuer en Traum!
Dich z Stille isch e echti Herusforderig worde will du jetzt vill interessierter bisch als vorher a de Welt um dich ume und jedes Gruesch oder Bewegig lenkt dich ab, so dass du voller Neugier din Chopf abtreisch und e riese Saueri machsch! Aber schins vergaht au das;-)
Am 6. April, zwei Tag nach eusem Osterfaestli, hets s Mami wieder agfange schaffe. Guet moeglich, dass das de schlimschti Tag gsi isch i mim Lebe! Laeck hesch du mir gfehlt! s Einzige wo's ushaltbar gmacht het, isch dass ich gwuesst han dass du sicher und guet dihei ufghobe bisch mit em Papi wo ja so toll fuer dich lueged. Ihr zwei wuessed immer was mache und hend e wahnsins Freud anenand! Ich han alli mini Bausatzteili zemegha zum Milch pumpe bim schaffe (sie hend mir netterwiis es winzigs Abstellchaemerli zur Verfuegigi gstellt fuer die Zeck) und de Papi het Schoppe Dienst gha. Zum Glueck schaff ich nur 3min. vo dihei weg, so chan ich so vill Ziit wie moeglich mit dir verbringe. I de erste zwei Wuche hani sogar choene hei cho ueber de Mitag zum schnell oepis verschlinge und denn dich a laechle oder dich eifach astarre waehred dem du gschlafe hesch; wenns es grad uf dis Mittagsschloefli breicht het. Das isch s Beste gsi! Mini Firma isch sehr nett indem dass sie mich hend lah "nume" 8 Std. Schichte schaffe zum afange, so dass ich mich wieder han choene drah gwoene. Da S Mami en Supervisor isch im Casino soett ich eigentlich 12 Std schaffe aber mir hend eus zerst chli welle ispiele. Ich bin bis jetzt no nie meh als 1 Stund oder so am Stuck vo dir weg gsi drum sind mir den 8 scho gnueg schlimm vorcho. Aber vo eim tag uf de ander hemmer en guet Rhythmus gfunde so dass ich ab em erst Mai wieder 12 Std. Schichte agfange han schaffe und defuer hani den amigs au 3-4 Tag anenand frei wo ich mit dir verbringe chan; isch also alles tip top.
Nur ein Tag nach dim 4 Monatige Geburi hemmer euse Check-up gha bim Dr. Shah und die zweit Rundi Impfige. Du bisch scho 64.77cm gross (!die Bei!) und bisch au scho 6.5Kg schwer. Er het eus den nach dim Schlafensrhythmus gfroeget und mit hend ihm gseit du segisch zimmlich e bravi und es klappi so wiit guet. Du tuesch jedi Nacht oepe 2-3 mal ufwache zum Milch trinke aber schlafsch amigs grad wieder ii. Aber eus isch ufgfalle dass du jetzt 5-6 Stund magsch warte zwuesched dine Mahlziite aber, dass sobald wo ich wieder han agfange schaffe und meh Schlaf brucht han als zuvor, hesch di uf eimal entschiede wieder alli 3 Stund oder so ufzwache und zesse! Mer hend also hinderschi gmacht. De Dr. het nume glaechlet und gseit dass du halt bitz verwoehnt segsch und dass i dim Alter und mit dim Gwicht du eigentlich nueme jedes mal muesstisch esse wenn i de Nacht verwachisch und dass mir doch mal soelled probiere dich eifach mal chli schimpfe lah und nued grad jedes mal ufgumpe und dich hole bi jedem chline Gruesch wo du machsch. Mir hend au besproche was und wenn afange dir "richtigs" Esse geh, aber das toent eus momentan no chli z Erwachse;-)Ich han dich gern als mis chline Baby und scho gli gli isch das alles verbii und wiit i de Vergangeheit.
Du hesch dini Tropfe und dini Spruetze uebercho; und ja hesch au das mal wieder brieget aber isch nued annoehernd so schlimm gsi wie letscht mal. Du bisch vo schreie zu eus alaechle gange i nume 2 min!
Mir sind so uebergluecklich mit eusere mega herzigi Familie! De Uki het dich vom erste Tag ah voll akzeptiert als sin neue Rudelfuehrer und au du fangsch langsam ah dich fuer in zinteressiere.
